Since the appearance of COVID-19, we have been hearing more and more frequently the words Sanitization, disinfection and cleaning, as synonyms, however, they mean three different things and their mode of application is different. Let us look at the difference between these three concepts
Cleaning: removes dirt, dust, crumbs and germs from surfaces or objects using detergent and water. Thus, the term wiping does not necessarily imply thorough removal of bacteria or germs, but it will help prevent the spread of microbes.
Disinfection: Disinfecting means using chemicals to eliminate infectious agents from surfaces to reduce the number of germs to a safe level. Disinfectants reduce harmful organisms to a level that does not damage the health and quality of perishable goods.
Sanitization (sanitizing) is a hygienic treatment that eliminates pathogens present on objects and surfaces through the use of physical and chemical products.
